Amaleena Damlé specialises in notions of embodiment, affect, gender and sexuality in 20th- and 21st-century French and francophone literature, philosophy and visual culture. She is the author of The Becoming of the Body: Contemporary Women's Writing in French (EUP, 2014), a monograph that mobilises Deleuzian philosophy in following the contestation, exception and transformation of the conventional boundaries of the body in the work of four contemporary francophone authors. She is the co-editor, with Gill Rye, of Women's Writing in Twenty-First-Century France: Life as Literature (UWP, 2013), Experiment and Experience: Women's Writing in France 2000-2010 (Lang, 2013), Aventures et expériences littéraires: écritures des femmes au début du vingt-et-unième siècle (Rodopi, 2014). She is currently working on a new project that considers emotional life in the feminine in recent French culture.
