Ana's main interests focus on the study of high−level cognitive processes and skills that underlie reading comprehension (e.g., inference making, monitoring, updating information and integration) in monolinguals and bilinguals. After completing a master’s degree in Cognitive and Behavioural Neuroscience, Ana did her PhD. in Experimental Psychology and Behavioural Neuroscience at the University of Granada (Spain, 2014). During this period, she was also a visiting scholar in different research teams in Italy (University of Padua) and United Kingdom (Lancaster University and University of Oxford). Subsequently, she has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Spain and France (University of Poitiers), combining the research areas of Language, Memory and Educational Psychology. Ana is currently a research associate at the University of Cambridge (2016−2019), investigating how bilingual children, teenagers and adults build a mental representation from narrative texts.

Ana also conducts research with the Cambridge Processing and Acquisition of Language Lab (CamPAL)
