Reader in Modern French Thought and Culture
My film and screen studies research interests and publications are gathered around three poles. I’ve written on questions of embodiment and eroticism (particularly inThe New Pornographies, co-authored with Victoria Best, 2007) and on the cinema of Marguerite Duras (most recently, on Duras’s treatment of cinematic time); and I’m currently interested in the ways in which visual and other media negotiate the more or less incommensurable lifeworlds of different beings.
