Publications include Eccentricity and the Cultural Imagination in Nineteenth-Century Paris (OUP, 2009) and articles on social marginality, dandyism, and melancholy in nineteenth-century France. Her current book project explores self-control in post-Romantic literature and thought. Recent and forthcoming publications include 'Self-Control and Uncontrollable Passion in Stendhal's Theory of Love' (French Studies) and 'Psychomania and the Limits of Masculine Agency in Balzac's Adieu' (MLR).
Dr Gill welcomes inquiries from potential MPhil and PhD students with research interests relevant to her interests.
