Professor Kasia Jaszczolt has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Łódź, recognising her distinguished contribution to linguistics and the philosophy of language.
The honour holds particular personal significance for Professor Jaszczolt, as the University of Łódź is her alma mater. It was there that she began her university studies and was first inspired to devote her academic career to the philosophy of language.
Professor Jaszczolt is Professor of Linguistics and Philosophy of Language in the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics, and a Professorial Fellow and Director of Studies in Linguistics at Newnham College.
Her research spans semantics, pragmatics, philosophy of language and the study of human time. Her recent publications include Semantics, Pragmatics, Philosophy: A Journey through Meaning and the edited volume Understanding Human Time.
