Research Topic: Investigating the role of an indigenised language variety in the morphosyntactic acquisition of its standard variety: The case of English in Malaysia

 

About                        

Samantha is a PhD candidate in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics. Her research aims to bridge the fields of Language Acquisition and World Englishes by focusing on the use of Malaysian English varieties in different social contexts.

Prior to her PhD, Samantha completed her BA in English Language and Linguistics at the University of York in 2016 and MPhil in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge in 2017.
