Dr Janina Schupp

Affiliated Lecturer in Architecture and the Moving Image

Dr Janina Schupp is an Affiliated Lecturer in Architecture and the Moving Image at the University of Cambridge and a College Mentor in Architecture and Media Studies at Newnham College, Cambridge. She also works as a news and documentary film producer for ZDF German Television.

Her research focuses on representations of urban spaces and voices from the margins in screen media. For her recent research projects CineMuseSpace (AHRC) and CineGenus (GCRF), she examined filmic representations of everyday life in China, Japan and India. In addition, she is interested in evolving media technologies from social media, to VR and simulations and the development of novel digital approaches to film studies.
