Gabriella Ghermandi
is an Ethio-Italian writer/performer and musician. In 2007 she published Regina di fiori e di perle (Donzelli), translated into English as Queen of Flowers and Pearls (Indiana UP, 2015) and into Amharic in 2017. Regina di fiori e di perle is the first novel written in Italian dealing with the Italian occupation of Ethiopia from an Ethiopian point of view. Gabriella is also the creator and leader of the Atse Tewodros Project, the only existing Ethiopian/Italian band in the world.
Jenni Skinner
is the African Specialist and Library Manager of the African Studies Library, supporting the research and teaching needs of the University’s Undergraduate and Postgraduate study of Africa, as part of the World Collections Department at Cambridge University Library.
