Dr Emilia Wilton-Godberfforde will be part of the panel for BOATS, BOOKS & BEATS: a poetry reading event and discussion taking place in London on the evening of Friday 2 May.
Prompted by Rosie Hilal's new translation of the French classic Berenice by Jean Racine, a star-crossed love story set against the background of the Roman invasion and colonisation of the Middle-East, the diverse panel will explore how their work can decolonise the literary canon that is so often created and sustained by a certain Eurocentric, Western and white, often male, perspective.
