You are warmly invited to a poetry reading and film viewing with Karen Leeder, prize-winning translator of poetry from German, and artist-writer MacGillivray, whose original compositions span poetry, soundtrack and non-fiction.
Karen Leeder is the Schwarz-Taylor Professor of German at the University of Oxford and a translator of contemporary German poetry. She will read from Psyche Running, the selected poems of Durs Grünbein, shortlisted for the Griffin Poetry Prize 2025, and Ulrike Almut Sandig’s ‘Shining Sheep’, shortlisted for the ALTA Poetry Translation Award 2024.
MacGillivray is the Highland name of Kirsten Norrie, an acclaimed writer and artist currently in residence as the Judith E. Wilson Poetry Fellow at the University of Cambridge. She will read from ‘Ravage: An Astonishment of Fire and The Demon Tracts’.
