Picturing Austrian Cinema

Vienna based director Ulrich Seidl is to attend Picturing Austrian Cinema, a Cambridge Research Symposium to be held at St John's College, Cambridge 25-27 September 2016.

According to the symposium's founder Dr Frederick Baker (Centre for Film and Screen):

Seidl is a multiple award winning visual innovator, who works at the borders of fact and fiction, expanding both the realms of documentary and feature filmmaking.

The symposium is a joint event between Cambridge University and the Austrian Film Institute in Vienna. It was successfully launched in 2014, when it was attended by 35 film experts from Austria, the UK and US and the special guests included Jessica Hausner and Ruth Beckermann.

The films selected for public screening will be announced shortly.
