Dr Petre Breazu specialises in multimodal critical discourse studies, focusing on how racism and discrimination are legitimised and normalised across media and digital platforms. His earlier research examined the representation of Roma and other marginalised communities in European media and political discourse.
Petre’s current research explores the generative and analytical capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs), with particular emphasis on uncovering racial, gendered, political and other biases embedded these models. Additionally, he investigates the potential of LLMs to enhance qualitative multimodal analysis.
Dr Breazu is a former recipient of the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship.
