Arena: night and day

For its 40th anniversary, the BBC arts series Arena has created a 24 hour film experience from its archive of over 600 programmes. The film is in exact sync with the time of day; for one day and one night Arena infiltrates Cambridge in a series of pop-up locations showing the likes of Bob Dylan, Francis Bacon, Sister Wendy, Harold Pinter, Bob Marley, T.S. Eliot and Luis Bunuel to name just a few.

German Screen Studies Network - Annual Symposium

University Of Cambridge. Friday 10 – Saturday 11 July 2015. At Screening Work, students, academics and interested members of the public are invited to explore, through subtitled film screenings and talks, the changing depiction of work in German-language moving image culture. Filmmaker Carmen Losmann will attend the symposium and present her award-winning film Work Hard Play Hard (2011).

Harry Lime returns on the Bridge of Sighs

For Orson Welles’ centenary, on May 6, 2015, a film documenting a cinematic experiment that used St John’s famous Bridge of Sighs as its canvas is being released online.
