Founded by Joe Cremona and his pupils, the Cambridge Romance Linguistics Seminar (RLS) first met in January 1973 and has been meeting annually ever since at Trinity Hall, Cambridge (UK). The emphasis is on informality and a friendly and constructive atmosphere in which views can be expressed and exchanged. Applications from ECRs are particularly welcome. The Seminar is organised jointly by the Italian section at Cambridge University, The Research Centre for Romance Linguistics at Oxford University, and the Dipartimento di Lettere, Filosofia, Comunicazione of the Università degli Studi di Bergamo.

54th edition (January 2027)
The 54th edition will take place from lunchtime on Wednesday 6th January to lunchtime on Thursday 7th January 2027, at Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
Call for papers (deadline: 1st November 2026)
If you would like to propose a paper (20 mins plus 10 mins for discussion) please do so as soon as possible and certainly no later than 1st November 2026 by contacting: RomLingSemCambridge@gmail.com
The sooner you can let us have your abstract the greater your chance of its being included in the programme, subject to its being of acceptable quality. Please send a title together
with an abstract of no more than 300 words. Papers may be on any aspect of Romance linguistics, and in any standard Romance language, or in English. In the event of more papers being offered than there are slots available, our general policy is that the same person should not normally present a paper in two successive RLS meetings and that preference will be given to first-time presenters.
A second circular with a provisional programme will be sent out in November.
Booking and registration (by 6th December 2026)
The conference registration fee (£55; graduate students: free) and optional bookings for meals and accommodation in Trinity Hall will need to be paid by 6th December. Further details will be posted here by the end of the summer.
