About
Professor Boyde specialises in medieval and Renaissance literature and art with special reference to Dante, as well as rhetoric, scholasticism, Michelangelo, narrative painting and sculpture.
Professor Boyde is the author of: Dante's Lyric Poetry (with K. Foster), (Oxford, 1967); Dante's Style in his Lyric Poetry (CUP, 1971); Dante Philomythes and Philosopher: Man in the Cosmos (CUP, 1981); and Perception and Passion in Dante's Comedy (CUP, 1993). He is the editor of (and contributor to): Lettura del Fiore (with Z. Baranski) (Ravenna, 1993); Dante e la scienza (with V. Russo) (Ravenna, 1995); The Fiore in Context (with Z. Baranski) (Notre Dame, 1997); and Human Vices and Human Worth in Dante's Comedy (CUP, 2000).
