Adam Zagajewski, Poland's greatest living poet, joined Cambridge Polish Studies at Trinity College for an evening of his poetry. Zagajewski read a selection of poems, followed by discussion and audience questions.
The event included the presentation of the Talkman Prize for Literary Translation for the best translation of a Polish poem into English by a student of Polish Studies at Cambridge, as well as readings by students.
Acclaimed translator of Polish literature, Antonia Lloyd-Jones, one of the competition judges, spoke about the challenges of literary translation.
We thank the Polish Cultural Institute in London for their kind support.
