Cambridge Polish Studies is pleased to be a co-organiser of the "New Perspectives in Memory Studies" workshop at Clare College, Cambridge.

The year 2019 represents the 30th anniversary of the 1989 revolutions, which reshaped both the international and domestic landscape in Central and Eastern Europe, leading to a large-scale political, economic and social transformation. The 30th anniversary provides a good opportunity to look back at these processes.

We are delighted that Dr Małgorzata Trzeciak Cygan from the University of Warsaw has joined us in the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge as a Newton International Fellow of the British Academy. Dr Trzeciak Cygan will be working on a project on "Female portraits in Italian and British travellers’ accounts from Poland (1600-1700)" with Professor Helena Sanson of the Italian Section.
