Elizabeth Guild specialises in early modern literature, especially Montaigne, and psychoanalysis. She is a contributor to The Cambridge History of Literary Criticism, vol. III, The Renaissance. She is currently researching eating and ethics in the early modern period: from cannibalism to living well.
