Students take two compulsory language papers in their second year of undergraduate study (Part IB), FRB3 Translation into French and FRMD French through the Media. More information can be found here:

- FR3: Inventing French Literature
- FR4: Rethinking the Human: French Literature, Thought and Culture, 1500-1700
- FR5: Revolutions in writing, 1700-1900
- FR6: Innovation and Upheaval: deformation and reformulation in the 20th and 21st centuries
