Online booking now open.

Join us for a programme of Bach (J.S. and C.P.E.), Beethoven and Schumann on Friday 5 February, 7.30pm.

Professional musicians and former MML students Jonathan Rees (cello / viola da gamba) and Mark Austin (piano / harpsichord) will perform. Together with Dr Charlotte Lee, they will also offer some brief thoughts on the pieces, situating them in their broader cultural context.

This intimate and friendly concert will take place in Gonville and Caius College, and will be split between the Lower Library and the Bateman Auditorium, reflecting the historical shift from salon to concert hall.

Programme:

J.S. Bach  C minor cello suite
C.P.E. Bach   Gamba sonata
Beethoven  D major sonata for piano and cello
Schumann  Fantasiestücke

There is a small charge of £6 (£3.60 for students) to help cover the cost of the event.

Jon and Mark will also be running a seminar for students before the concert (5 - 6.15 pm). All are most warmly invited. Places at the seminar will be allocated on a first come, first served basis - please contact Charlotte Lee (cll38) to reserve yours.
