Jane Walsh is the Manager for Cambridge Language Sciences, a virtual centre connecting researchers from five Schools across the University as well as other world-leading research institutions. Its mission is to strengthen research collaborations and knowledge transfer across disciplines in order to address large-scale multi-disciplinary research challenges. Cambridge Language Sciences is one of several Interdisciplinary Research Centres at the University of Cambridge.
Jane has a degree in Modern Languages (French and Italian) and a background in English Language Teaching, lexicography and educational publishing. She joined the University in 2012 to work with Prof. Henriëtte Hendriks and Prof. William Marslen-Wilson to set up Cambridge Language Sciences and has been working to develop it ever since. Prior to that was she was Commissioning Editor for Applied Linguistics at Cambridge University Press.
