Kylie Richardson's research focuses on topics in Slavonic linguistics. She is interested primarily in the syntax of the Slavonic languages, aspect, and case. She has published articles on the links between case and aspect in Russian and in Ukrainian. Her book Case and Aspect in Slavic, published by Oxford University Press 2007 focuses on the interaction of the case on objects and the semantic aspect (event structure) of a verb in the Slavonic languages in general and the interaction of the case on predicates and grammatical aspect in the East Slavonic languages.
