Call for papers: Cambridge Undergraduate Conference in German Studies

Undergraduate German Studies Conference

'Invention and Innovation', Saturday 8 February 2020, Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge

Undergraduates of German (or an equivalent degree containing an element of German) in the UK and Ireland are invited to attend either as speakers or delegates.

Speakers are provided with free accomodation, a free dinner and refunded travel costs ( up to £100).

There is a £10 registration fee for speakers and attendees. We can also help with finding accommodation for attendees who are not speaking at the conference if necessary.

Questions? Contact: CUCGS@mml.cam.ac.uk

If you wish to speak, please fill in the registration form and submit your abstract of 150-200 words. Presentations should last for 15 minutes and relate to the theme of 'Invention and Innovation.' Submissions can be made here: https://forms.gle/FL5CmM9CZZH1cFTT9.

We aim to put together a diverse programme. Presentations in German or English are warmly welcomed - please specify in advance. In previous years, many speakers have developed topics from Year Abroad Projects and dissertations.

Due to time restraints, some applicants may be offered the chance to present and display a poster.

Successful applicants will be informed by the end of term and our keynote speaker will be announced shortly.

Previous speakers:

Dr. Hubertus Knabe (Ehemaliger Direktor der Gedenkstatte Berlin-Hohenschonhausen)

Prof. Dr. Carola Dietze (University of Jena)

Dr. Leila Mukhida (film-maker & researcher)

Please send abstracts by Sunday 1st December 2019.
