Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics

New Faculty name

On 1 October 2019, our Faculty name will change. In order to reflect more fully the range of our activity, we will become the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics.

Linguistics has always been a cornerstone of our teaching and research and we have offered courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level for many years. The full Linguistics Tripos was launched in October 2010 and proved an immediate success. In 2012, the Research Centre for English and Applied Linguistics was merged into the Faculty creating new research opportunities in the applied as well as the theoretical fields of the subject and broadening the range of topics available for students at all levels. The name change reflects the importance of linguistics within the Faculty both now and in the future.

Over the next weeks and months we will be working to implement this change of name. The Faculty web site is now www.mmll.cam.ac.uk but anyone using the previous address will be redirected.

Please note that the name of the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos has not changed.

Any questions relating to this change should be sent to facultyoffice@mmll.cam.ac.uk.
