Prize Successes in French

Warmest congratulations to Anton Bruder, PhD student in French, and Giulia Boitani, Postdoctoral Fellow in the French Section, for their success in the Society for French Studies R. Gapper Postgraduate Essay Prize. Anton Bruder was awarded the prize for his essay, ‘Topoi of the Philological Imagination from the Renaissance to the Revolution: Claude Fauchet (1530-1602) and Charles de Pougens (1755-1833)’, while Giulia Boitani’s essay, ‘The Origins of Sin. Foucault, History, and Genealogy in the Prehistory of the Prose Tristan’, was highly commended by the judges.

 

The prize is awarded annually for the best essay submitted by a postgraduate student at a university based in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland.
