GCSE students discover the wonders of German

115 GCSE and A-level students, accompanied by 37 teachers, representing 30 schools from across the UK attended an event hosted by Cambridge Online German for Schools (COGS) programme run by the University’s Department of German and Dutch on 13 June at Murray Edwards College.

New Cambridge Research Initiative in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has announced it will provide €1 million over five years to create a research hub at the University of Cambridge. The hub will draw on and support the activities of all Cambridge scholars working on German-related and comparative themes from any period and from across all subjects in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Dr Rory Finnin wins Student-Led Teaching Award

Dr Rory Finnin, University Senior Lecturer in Ukrainian Studies, has won an award in the Lecturer category at CUSU's Student-Led Teaching Awards 2015. Cambridge University Students' Union presented the award to Rory at a ceremony on the 12th May. Other lecturers, supervisors and non-academic staff were also presented awards to recognise their work in supporting Cambridge students.
