The Managers of the Scandinavian Studies Fund are pleased to announce an MPhil Studentship in Scandinavian Studies for the academic year 2024-25. The award is for Home Fees and Maintenance for one student at the University of Cambridge starting an MPhil in 2024 who proposes to conduct research on any aspect of Scandinavian Studies.  

           The award will consist of the university composition fee (tuition/College fees) at the Home rate plus the standard UKRI-level maintenance award, at the pro-rata rate for the period of an MPhil (9 months). The award will be made on the basis of the quality of the applicant’s academic record, the research proposal, and any other indications of outstanding academic merit. Home and overseas applicants will be considered, but please note that the level of funding available is only at the Home rate.

           There is no separate application form to apply for this award but applicants are asked to tick a box on their MPhil application to say they wish to be considered for funding from the University. All applicants whose research falls into the relevant area for the award must submit their application for admission via the applicant portal by the course funding deadline of 4 January 2024 (or 5 December 2023 for Linguistics).  Please also email the Postgraduate Office on postgradadmin@mmll.cam.ac.uk to express your wish to be considered.
