Cathy Wardle

Cathy is the Library Assistant at the MMLL Library and is temporarily covering the Senior Library Assistant role, managing the library’s Italian collections. She also takes care of the library’s finances and social media accounts. Cathy is developing the library’s student-led collection covering wellbeing, study skills and world fiction amongst other topics, as well as curating the library's new Translation Studies section. Cathy was an undergraduate and postgraduate in the MMLL Faculty, completing her BA in French, Spanish and Catalan in 2021 and the ELAC MPhil by Thesis in 2022, where she wrote on itinerant aristocratic communities in seventeenth-century French women’s fiction and correspondence. She has previously worked as a translator and also had a brief stint helping out in the English Faculty Library before joining the MMLL Library team in January 2023.
