SFS Gapper Postgraduate Essay Prize 2021

Anton Bruder has been awarded the 2021 Society for French Studies R, Gapper Postgraduate Essay Prize for his essay 'Topoi of the Philological Imagination from the Renaissance to the Revolution: Claude Fauchet (1530-1602) and Charles de Pougens (1755-1833)’. Giulia Boitani was highly commended by the judges for her essay 'The Origins of Sin. Foucault, History, and Genealogy in the Prehistory of the Prose Tristan', which is forthcoming in Romanic Review.

The prize is awarded annually for the best essay submitted by a postgraduate student at a university based in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland. Congratulations to Anton and to Giulia for these superb achievements!
