Felipe Schuery Awarded Pilkington Prize

Felipe Schuery

The MMLL Faculty and the Spanish and Portuguese Sections are delighted to announce that Felipe Schuery (Associate Professor in Portuguese) has been awarded the Pilkington Prize. This is a major honour and an extremely competitive prize, one that Felipe thoroughly deserves after all his years of great work in MMLL. He received the prize in a ceremony at Fitzwilliam College on 22 June.

The Pilkington Prize awards were endowed and inaugurated in 1994 by Sir Alastair Pilkington to acknowledge excellence in teaching. The prizes are awarded to individuals who make a substantial contribution to the teaching programme of a Department, Faculty or the University as a whole. Twelve prizes are awarded each year, with nominations made by each of the six Schools. The prizes are awarded annually by the Vice-Chancellor.

On behalf of the Faculty and Section, we want to say parabens, Felipe! Well done, and many congratulations. This is a great personal achievement as well as for the Faculty.
